Riverlawn Presbyterian Covenant of Prayer

Objective: Riverlawn will center worship, ministry and evangelism with a covenant of prayer before God. By doing so, we acknowledge the only power-source of all of creation is the one true and living God Almighty; we acknowledge His protection, discipline, and our need for spiritual renewal; we acknowledge the need for our hearts to be prepared in a spirit of unity through prayer; we acknowledge our need to turn from sin in our lives; and we acknowledge that we must believe in the power of prayer which casts out all fear and doubt and therefore, rest in God’s perfected love.  We will seek God’s will as the foundation upon which all ministry strategies will be built.  We know that our prayer will fuel growth in the lives of Riverlawn, our community, and in the Great Commission upon which we are called and to which we are surrendered as servants of the living God.   Our prayers will be centered upon the inherent Word of the God of Israel upon which all things were created and through which He reveals His will for our lives through the working of His Holy Spirit in our hearts.

The covenant of prayer will focus on four prayer strategies:  Prayer, Strongholds, Testimony, and Spiritual Revival.  Our hope is in God to continually remind us of this covenant vow, and grant us the grace to keep it.  Knowing in our weaknesses His grace is sufficient, and He is glorified and works powerfully in our hearts extending His never-ending love, mercy, and faithfulness.  Let us as a people of God, who are continually growing into the reflection of Christ Jesus, be like salt and light to the world.  Lord, help us to walk in your Holy Spirit, and your perfected will for our lives.

The Riverlawn Covenant of Prayer- Seek God, Turn from Sin, Be Humble in Spirit, and United in Heart as the Body of Christ, Seek Spiritual Revival and Renewal, Prepare Hearts and Believe in the Power of Prayer, Trust and Surrender to the Leading of God’s Holy Spirit, Find Rest in God’s Love, Seek God’s Wisdom and Truth, Be Salt and Light in the World, Reflect Christ’s Image, and Fulfill the Great Commission to which we are charged.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
